    Sheri is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology. She has over 10 years experience working in student support at Memorial University. Sheri is an advocate for students’ overall mental health and wellness and an ally to queer students on campus. Sheri has graduate level training in trauma informed practice and feminist counselling with women who have experienced intimate partner violence. Sheri’s areas of focus include ADHD psychoeducation and support, post-secondary, student wellbeing, in-service teacher support, career exploration, intimate partner violence, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, stress-management, grief, and queer community issues and challenges. She works with teen, young adult and adult populations. Sheri’s approach is person-centered, strength-based and solution-focused.

  • Heather Alexander, CCC

    Heather is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University (2023) and completed her B.A. and Criminology Certificate at Memorial University of Newfoundland (2016). She has experience working with adolescents and adults with concerns to anxiety, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, trauma, depression, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships and challenging life transitions. Heather is a member of the Qalipu First Nation and is passionate about informing culturally responsive practices and bringing awareness to Indigenous representation within our province. Heather draws from a narrative counselling approach to prioritize her clients’ lived experiences, social contexts and stories to inform appropriate and effective therapeutic processes. Heather also utilizes therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to empower clients with the tools and skills to address their concerns outside the therapeutic space.

    Danielle is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. She has over 7 years of experience in providing support and advocacy for people who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual violence. Danielle’s approach is warm and non-judgemental, ensuring that clients feel safe and comfortable during sessions. Her practice is strengths-based and collaborative, drawing from various therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to best suit client needs and preferences. Danielle sees clients facing a variety of challenges, and has experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, gender transition, ADHD, and interpersonal challenges. She is currently accepting both individuals and couples. Danielle has lived experience as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and aims to provide inclusive counselling services to clients of all backgrounds.

    William is an art therapist and a registered naturopath (ACCN). He is working towards the Registered Canadian Art Therapist (RCAT) designation and receiving supervision for his clinical work. His experience includes work with stigmatized individuals living with trauma, addictions, eating disorders, and autism. William offers art therapy to children and adults alike. Session can be offered in French or English. William adopts a Relational-Integrative approach to art therapy as well as being informed by Individual psychology. Clients make artwork as a means of self expression. The therapeutic relationship is formed as William encourages clients to explore and make meaning from their work.

    Claire completed a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University (2016) and a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University (2023). She has experience providing counselling services and navigational support to young adult and adult populations who are facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, life transitions, stress, emotional regulation, dis(ability), and social issues. Additionally, Claire has extensive experience working directly with post-secondary students as she has worked in a variety of student support roles that focused on promoting student wellness, career development and accessibility at Memorial University. Claire integrates multiple therapeutic approaches to practice including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused and mindfulness-based practices. Claire values a positive and collaborative therapeutic relationship and fosters a strengths-based and client-centered approach to practice. She strives to create accessible, inclusive, and safer spaces for individuals to fully express, represent and engage while working towards achieving their goals.

    Natalie has over ten years of experience as a registered social worker. She completed her Masters degree in Social Work at Memorial University and has been a practicing social worker for over 10 years. Natalie has experience providing skilled mental health services across a wide array of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, relationships, life transitions, substance use disorder, and more. She has particular skill in working with folks experiencing co-occurring, severe and persistent mental health and addictions issues. She utilizes an anti-oppressive lens of practice that often includes a combination of strengths-based and narrative approaches. She is also skilled in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

  • Erin Woodrow, CCC

    Erin is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background. Her qualifications include a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Master of Science in Sustainability. With over fifteen years of experience, Erin has provided counselling services at various nonprofit organizations and has been a people manager in several organizations. She also holds certifications as a registered yoga teacher (RYT) and in advanced coaching.

    Erin offers therapy to adolescents, adults, and couples dealing with a range of mental health concerns. Her approach is collaborative, tailoring treatment methods to each client’s unique needs. Erin draws on evidence-based therapeutic techniques and integrates other modalities as necessary. Her warm, empathetic demeanor and cultural sensitivity create a safe space for clients.

    Erin’s special interests and experience lie in anxiety, trauma, stress management, sleep, emotional dysregulation and couples counselling. Additionally, she is trained in Gottman Couples Method and a team approach to ADHD assessment as well as ADHD intervention. Her commitment to authenticity and the therapeutic process shines through in her work.

    Donna holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is certified (level 2) in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Her approach to helping is guided by the goals and preferences of her clients. She incorporates current research on neuroscience and emotional health to help clients respond to personal challenges. She is inspired by narrative therapy, emotion focused therapy and the benefits of mindfulness as well as the power of self-compassion to aid recovery and growth.

    Donna is interested in working with adults of all ages who struggle with depression, anxiety, anger, health challenges and motivation as well as couples seeking to improve their relationship. Donna is committed to providing an inclusive, caring and culturally safe service that supports people in navigating life’s journey.

  • Janis Dawson-Campbell, CCS

    Janis is a Canadian Certified Counsellor, clinical supervisor, and educator. Her practice is integrated and grounded in strengths-based, narrative, and solution-focused therapies. She is an EMDR therapist and works collaboratively with her clients from a recovery-oriented approach. She is also a certified clinical supervisor and provides supervision services to new and experienced counsellors. Janis received her EdD in Education from Western University and is also a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland .

  • Dr. Leah Lewis, CCC, RDT

    Leah is a certified Canadian counsellor and a registered arts therapist. She’s been in practice for over fifteen years and has honed an expertise in the areas of grief, chronic illness and chronic pain, and gender transitioning support with individuals and families. Leah makes use of narrative and CBT strategies, as well as arts-based interventions. She is an assistant professor of counselling psychology at Memorial University, where her teaching honours all identities.

  • Dr. Sheri McConnell, RSW

    Sheri is a registered social worker (NLCSW) with a PhD in social work, an MSW, a BSW, and extensive training in psychodrama and sociometry, psychodramatic bodywork, and alcohol & chemical dependency counselling. Sheri is an assistant professor at the Memorial University of School of Social Work, having worked for fourteen years as a Field Education Coordinator and sessional instructor. In practice for over 30 years, Sheri draws on clinical social work, group and community work, and advocacy and social action for social justice, working primarily with 2SLGBTQIA+ people, Indigenous peoples, survivors of childhood trauma, people who have perpetrated abuse, women involved with the justice system, and people with addictions. Integrating action methods into her practice, Sheri works from a holistic, feminist, relational, collaborative, strengths-based perspective.

    Hilary has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, mood, self-esteem, school stress, adjustment/life transition, and chronic health condition difficulties. Hilary enjoys providing parenting support to families of children with various internalizing and externalizing problems. Her practice is 2SLGBTQIA+ and culturally affirming. Hilary creates a warm therapeutic space and challenges clients to set goals beyond simply reducing their symptoms, supporting them in capitalizing on their strengths. She integrates various therapeutic approaches based on client preference and values, as well as the best available research evidence. Hilary's core practice approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), while placing a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and process.

    Fiona Cunningham is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and has earned her B.Sc. at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, her M.Ed. at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). Fiona is currently in her clinical psychology Doctoral studies at Fielding Graduate University. She has extensive experience in the area of women’s mental health in Newfoundland and Labrador over the past 20 years. In particular, Fiona's expertise lies in the areas of perinatal health and supporting survivors of domestic violence. She is a researcher in the areas of posttraumatic growth, women’s health, and international psychology. She is the daughter of British immigrants and currently lives on the unceded land of the Beothuk in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Fiona identifies as Cis-gender (she/her/hers). Her practice is LBGTQ+ affirmative. Fiona provides safe affirming spaces for individuals engaging in sex work, non-monogamous relationships, and polyamory and/or kink practice.

  • Judith Burgess, CCC

    Judi is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (2012). She completed her internship at the Centre for Pain and Disability Management (Eastern Health) and extra graduate coursework in health psychology. She worked as the Education Coordinator for The Arthritis Society (2012-14) and volunteered for 10+ years as an instructor of the Arthritis Self Management Program and served on the Advocacy Committee. Judi continues to be a passionate advocate for persons living with arthritis and chronic pain. Judi works from a collaborative, humanistic and existential lens, enhancing hope, drawing upon strength-based, mindfulness techniques and education supports. She uses a warm, positive, biopsychosocial approach, and evidence-based methods that foster autonomy and resilience.
